Broker’s Comments

Discovery 55s are one of the ultimate bluewater cruiser models - they won the World Cruising Boat of the Year Award in 2004. They offer impressive performance, reliability and easy motion, and have a rig that two people can effortlessly handle. They are a truly luxurious home in which to go cruising and are to be enjoyed in different locations with family and friends.

This example features a large owner’s cabin aft, with centerline berth, en-suite head and stall shower. Moving forward, you pass through the port side galley, with sinks on centerline. Her countertops are in an attractive sage green Corian. There are two large front opening stainless fridges.

Moving up a few steps to the deck saloon, there is a wrap around settee, around an expandable table, and opposite is a chart table. Both enjoy good visibility out of the saloon windows. Forward of this is the bunk berth guest cabin to port, head and shower opposite, and a v-berth cabin forward.

The Discovery 55 is a groundbreaking design, with excellent interior visibility, cherry interior and comfortable layout, which is also beautifully built. Add to this, sleek lines by Ron Holland, an easily managed sail plan and a sensible deck layout, and it’s not difficult to see why these yachts are so phenomenally popular.

CALLA has been sailed in the North East and in the Caribbean, and has just arrived back. She is in good working order, but a new owner will probably want to refresh some cosmetics and fabrics, and update the sails. This is reflected in the attractive asking price.

Owner’s Comments

We have really enjoyed CALLA, sailing her on the East Coast of the USA and in the Caribbean. She is comfortable and is easy to sail with just the two of us, and very safe in all conditions. Being able to see out from the saloon table is a great feature!
