Barques are sailing ships from the 18th to 20th centuries with at least three masts. The mizzen mast (the aftmost mast) is fore and aft rigged, meaning the triangular sails are parallel to the long axis of the ship. Whereas the fore mast and main masts are square rigged, meaning they have rectangular sails perpendicular to the length of the ship.
