A Sail Dory is a small, lightweight sailing craft built primarily out of wood. They are usually less than 18 feet in length, with a wide beam, shallow draft, and a wide, flat hull. Most often, they are outfitted with a single sail and oars for manoeuvring. Some Sail Dories can also be motorized. It's a gently-hulled vessel that is low-couched and centreboard free, drawing only one to two feet of water, making them ideal for coastal waters. Sail Dories are often used by anglers as well due to their stability and ability to operate in shallow water areas.
