A commercial schooner is a type of two-masted sailing vessel that typically features a pronounced fore-and-aft rig, usually meaning a main mast placed considerably further back than the mast forward. Commercial schooners have been used for centuries as a means of transport, ranging from fishing to merchant vessels used for loading and transferring cargo goods. Nowadays, many commercial schooners are used for pleasure sailing and for tourism, often used for charters and cruising holidays. Their traditional construction, classic good looks and a wide array of sizes and adaptations make them a favourite for sailors today.
