'Spirit of Zoya' is a safe and capable cruising yacht built in Finland and fitted out by Lito Marin of Finland in 1997. The vessel has been in the same ownership since 2008 and has enjoyed trips to the northern Isles, the Netherlands and the West Coast of Scotland. With berths for 6 she is an ideal family cruiser but is equally appealing as a couples boat. With all the lines led aft and her current sail plan, she is a joy to sail short handed. Although a very quick boat she has never been raced. Well maintained inboard Nanni diesel, in mast furling mainsail, inner and outer roller furling headsails and a comprehensive electronic navigation package, If you are looking for a genuine blue water cruiser then 'Spirit of Zoya' should be on your list.
Mechanical
Vessel is powered by a reliable and economical Nanni 4220 inboard diesel engine. This 43hp, 4 cylinder workhorse has been regularly maintained by her present owner. The engine is a located beneath the companionway steps allowing full access for servicing and daily checks. Engine start panel mounted in cockpit coaming with protective Perspex screen. Full engine instrumentation including rev counter fuel gauge and both visual and audible warnings for high temperature, oil pressure and charging.
reduction gearbox driving a stainless steel shaft and 3-bladed Max Prop. New anodes fitted in July 2024. Under engine the vessel will motor all day at 5.5 knots burning 1/2 a gallon per hour. Top speed is a none to shabby 7.5 knots if required.
Electrical
Bank of 3x12V batteries fitted with isolators. These are located beneath the chart table seat making them very accessible should they need changing. Dedicated engine start, anchor windlass and domestic batteries. The batteries are recharged via the engine alternator, on board battery charger or via the solar panel. There is a shore power cable and RCD breaker.

Rigging
Masthead rig with keel stepped Selden spars with in-mast furling main, roller furling genoa and roller furling inner jib. The mast and all standing and running rigging were replaced in 2015. All lines are lid aft to the helm making short handed sailing very comfortable indeed. Twin backstays with tensioners. Shrouds are slightly inboard making access forward safe and unhindered. 8 off Anderson 2-speed, self tailing winches. Rigid boom vang. Sails include a vertically battened Saturn mainsail, a Hood genoa, a Chanon inner jib and a spare Hood jib.

Accommodation
Many Sirena 40 models have a different layout as Lito Marin who finished off the boats offered many different options to suit. This particular version is a more traditional layout with spacious single aft and forward cabins and a saloon dinette converting to an additional double.
The accommodation is entered via the cockpit with lockable washboard and sliding hatch. There is full standing headroom throughout. The interior cabinet work is teak including teak and holly laminate flooring. The keel stepped mast is incorporated into the central saloon table. There are drop leaves on both sides. The mast has an attractive cream soft vinyl sleeve. To port of the companionway is the L-shaped galley. Double stainless steel sink, pressurised hot and cold water tap and the provision for a sea water faucet if required. The worktops are easy clean laminate with a top loading cool box. Gas fuelled Nelson oven with 2-burner hob and separate grill. Plenty of storage offered in the head height lockers and below counter cupboards.
Aft of the galley is the double aft cabin. This has two opening ports for additional light and ventilation along with both reading and mood lighting. There is a hanging locker. Well upholstered fabric covered mattrasses.
returning to the saloon and opposite the galley is the chart table/navigation area. There is a forward facing, full size chart table, large padded seat and an array of electronic navigation aids. There is a chart reading light, chart storage and a 12V switch panel.
Aft of the chart table is the heads compartment with Jabsco sea toilet fitted with a holding tank. There is a diverter valve for either sea or tank discharge. Moulded sink unit with hot and cold pressurised water and pull out shower with sump discharge. Hull mounted unit for toiletries. Opening port for ventilation.
To starboard of the saloon table are two comfortable seats with a dividing occasional table/arm rest feature. Outboard of both starboard and port seating are cupboard and cubby hole storage.
In the bow is the owners cabin with central island V berth with access both sides and port and starboard dressing seats. There is a large deck hatch for light and ventilation along with 12V reading lights. Wardrobe storage port and starboard, bulkhead mounted storage lockers above the berth and drawer storage beneath.

Construction
GRP constructed sailing yacht with deep draft kin keel, counter hung spade rudder and wheel steering. Teak laid self bailing cockpit with removable curved rear seat. Teak topped locker storage in two lockers aft of helm and deep sail locker on starboard side. Stainless steel cockpit rails with central access to stainless steel and teak slatted bathing platform. Stainless steel bathing ladder. GRP moulded side decks and superstructure finished in non slip. Large self bailing anchor locker with lid. Stainless steel bow fitting with anchor roller. Vertical mounted Lewmar electric windlass. Hull to deck join finished in aluminium toe rail with inbuilt fairleads. Gelcoat topsides in mid blue. Underwater areas antifouled in July 2024. Vessel is stored ashore for 7 months every year.
