Sea Ray Boats was founded in 1959 in Oxford, Michigan by C.N. Lawrence and his daughters, despite initial scepticism from the boating industry. In 1960 the company released the first ever Sea Ray designed boat, with the vision of building a ‘better boat’ following the principles of design, finish, construction, performance and reliability.
In the decades since, Sea Ray Boats quickly became one of the leading manufacturers of cruisers, sport boats, super-sport, and yacht boats. It is now part of the Brunswick Corporation and is headquartered at Knoxville, Tennessee. It has more than 120 boat lines and 2,000 dealers in over 60 countries in operation.
Sea Ray Boats have excelled in innovation and technology since its beginnings, introducing a number of firsts from swim platforms and extended V-planing technology for smoother ride. It has also set the standard for craftsmanship and attention to detail with investment in craftsmanship training, and sustainability initiatives.
