Engine

The engine HP is 150 continuous at 2800 RPM. (the injection pump can be adjusted to 170 HP non continuous) Cruise speed:  14 MPH/2150 RPM/2.2 GPH est 15 MPH/2250 RPM/2.5 GPH est 16 MPH/2350 RPM/3.0 GPH est 20 MPH/2800 RPM/6.5 GPH est (MAX)  Note: Actual calibrated fuel consumption fill to fill 8 to 14 MPH/1600 RPM to 2150 RPM (fuel/eng hrs=1.7 Gph)           I avoid speeds between 8 MPH and 14 MPH (hull is less efficient, deck angle is approximately 10 degrees) the boat runs flat            at approximately 5 degrees at 14 MPH and above.   The engine is a new 4BT industrial (step van truck engine} in Cummins inventory when new emissions standards outlawed conventional mechanical fuel injection diesel engines. Thousands of these engines were sent to a Cummins plant in Mexico to be marinized and sent back to the US as a legal (remanufactured engine).   I was pleasantly surprised by the noise level and vibration of the 4BT probably owing largely to the new vibration isolation mounts, the heavy longitudinal stringers, and heavy hull layup.  The new engine box and lead foam linning further reduce engine noise.
