History of Archambault

Archambault, a name synonymous with precision and excellence, is a French boat manufacturing company, renowned worldwide for their high-performance sailing yachts. The company was established in 1967 in the region of Cholet, France, by the skilled and visionary boat-builder, Guy Archambault. His passion for sailing and an astute understanding of wind and waves led to the birth of this premium yacht-making enterprise. Archambault Boats quickly garnered a reputation amongst sailing enthusiasts for excellent design, superior craftsmanship, and impeccable attention to detail, placing it amongst the legendary boat manufacturers globally.

In the late 1990s, Archambault started innovating and producing racing themed sailboats which were instantly successful, carving a niche in the popular racing boats market. The A35 and A40 models became classic icons of speed and performance on the racing circuit and are still revered today. From family cruising boats to IRC racing boats, Archambault gained a reputation for having a wide spectrum of offerings catering to diverse yachting requirements and preferences.

However, even with its illustrious history, Archambault had to cease operations due to financial difficulties in 2014. The company was subsequently acquired by BG Race, a French consortium in 2015. Today, Archambault boats still sail under the banner of the new manufacturer, retaining their classic charm while enjoying a fresh breath of life and continuation of their production legacy. Now based in Les Sables-d'Olonne, France, the Archambault brand continues to stand for exceptional quality, distinct character, and timeless elegance in the world of yachting.
