  • The engine has been recently run on the hard. Whilst it is cosmetically in poor order it starts first time and runs well.

owners Notes

I understand only 9 or 10 Tradewind 39's were built and they rarely come to the open market.

The original owner sold her only because he was getting old and I am lead to believe that the second owner hardly sailed her at all, in fact she was laid up for maybe 5-6 years before I bought her and brought her north to Scotland.

In my ownership she has been pottering about the River Clyde and has never ventured further afield, which I feel was unfair on Hellene Louise as she was undoubtedly designed and built to sail to far flung shores.

I now find myself in the same boat (as it were) with the original owner and she has been laid up ashore for too long and it is therefore time to pass her onto someone who will appreciate her as I have.

I have a copy letter from a Tradewind 39 owner from New York who variously describes her as the finest sea boat of any size he has ever sailed and he would take her anywhere in the world and under any conditions!
