About this Westerly Merlin 29

The Westerly Merlin was the second of the new generation models to come from the board of Ed Dubois. Smaller than her predecessor; the high successful Konsort, the Merlin is regarded by many to provide the superior below decks living space with a light and spacious interior they provide a good sized double bunk aft with the same V-berth forward and two occasional berths in the saloon. Designed to compete with the mass production offerings from French builders at the time her layout feels far more modern than her predecessors. With the new designs came a better turn of speed under sail and this small Westerly is more than capable of outperforming her bigger sisters.

MADRIGAL is the later, bilge keel configuration version of the Westerly Merlin 29, only 17 of the Merlin 29’s were built. The later Merlin 29 having a modern style sugar scoop transom and a slightly different layout below decks from the earlier 28. Inventory highlights include:

'Fast and racey, the WESTERLY MERLIN from the design board of Ed Dubois, is available either single keel or twin keel. She's "North Sea Tough" in Westerly's Lloyds Approved tradition, with top quality glasswork, easily driven and forgiving.

Probably the most striking feature of the WESTERLY MERLIN is the "magic worked by Dubois in designing a boat which, from the exterior has traditional lines, yet below deck offers accommodation with a decidedly "French" flavour."
