The Balducci family founded Mangusta in 1985, choosing a symbolic and meaningful name for the company. At the time, the leading brand for open, fast sailing vessels was Cobra by Tecnomarine. Named after the mongoose – the only animal that can tackle and defeat cobras – Mangusta clearly set out to challenge the status quo. In the 1990s, the company launched the Mangusta 80. Up until that moment, “open” yachts had had always forced buyers to compromise between speed and space, sportiness and comfort. Mangusta built a large, high-performance sports yacht that was exceptionally comfortable and liveable, with extremely sociable outdoor and indoor space.

Their streamlined, sporty lines make them timeless classics – true icons in their field.

This Mangusta 80 Open is a meticulously well maintained yacht, and a real pleasure for us to represent. The boat was re painted in 2017 and also has had new teak fitted to cockpit and swim platform decks. It is very well equiped and has been extremely looked after, and as you may see from the photos.
