This Down East cruiser was built in Maine.  The hull is solid, hand-laid fiberglass with no coring.  The semi-displacement hull offers soft, dry operation.   Spray rails deflect water away from the hull.  And the vessel rides relatively flat for good visibility forward.   A small keel makes for good tracking.  And the Seaway 24 is one of the most efficient hulls in her size range.  So she is very easy on fuel.  And her Down East classic lines gets noticed in any harbor. The bottom was just painted in late May with red antifouling.  And the hull was just professionally wax and polished.   She is looking good.  The owner wants to have the varnished teak touched up for the next owner.

Construction and Design

Seaway Boats are known for their soft, dry ride. The lobster style "Downeast" hull design has a deep forefoot which slices thru waves. The spray rails deflect water straight out, away from the hull. Seaways run at a flat angle at all speeds without the undesirable 'bow high' angle other boats suffer. Seaway hulls are also easily driven, so they are incredibly efficient--requiring less horsepower than most other boats in this size range
