Wooden Ships Comments on this Sole Bay 35

Designed by J. Francis Jones and built by Armstrongs of Scarborough in 1965.  The design of this hull was used for the Guernsey pilot boat, proving the capability and seaworthiness of this hull.

Long keel with a transom stern and high bows, she is not a high performance sailing yacht but is supremely comfortable and safe in adverse weather, an ideal blue water sailing yacht that will look after the crew in any conditions.  The size of the boat and rig mean she can be easily sailed singlehanded, and with inside and outside helm positions she is a very versatile yacht.

Professionally maintained in current ownership and kept up to a very good standard.

Her modern Iveco 90hp diesel gives reliable power, with her feathering 4 blade propeller she makes 7.5knots cruising speed at only 1gallon/hour consumption making for economic cruising.

Aft cabin with 2 berths and heads compartment, 2 saloon settee berths and potential for another single berth in the forecabin.

A nice looking yacht, ideal cruising boat with a good inventory of equipment and ready to go
