EXCEL 400 – S/Y After Ski, is a Swedish quality construction with a famous classic high quality interior as in boats like Hallberg-Rassy, Najad, Malö etc. The constructor and previous owners have had a high focus on quality i every detail. The boat reminds of the famous Swan sailingboats with its contstruction, quality and characteristics. A classic sailingboat designed for all weather conditions and a perfect choice for vacation as for longer ocean passages and is a mix of a fast sailer and a comfortable cruising sailboat. This constructor and previous owners have had a high focus on quality i every detail. This safe and stable sailboat is the perfect family boat as well as for the couple or a solo sailor dreaming of sailing adventures wether it is in in a cold or warm climate, in the north or in the south. The Excel 400 was built by Excel Yachts of Sweden Ab and is designed by Jan Becker who also designed a variaty of Swedish classic sailing boats like Mamba, Vagabond, Birdie and Joule.

S/Y After Ski have been, for the most part sailed during vacation sailing in Swedish waters, and spent the winter periods on the hard. The current owners left Sweden in the spring of 2019 and sailed along European coasts such as Germany, the English channel, France, over the Biscaye and then down along the Spanish and Portugeuese coast to the Algarve and Lagos where the boat has been on the hard since autumn 2019. This cruising machine have proved its capabilities in all types of weather and sea, and from ice and snow to the warm and sunny weather in southern Europe. The current owner had planned to continue cruising in the Mediterranean and combine longer periods of sailing with work, but due to the circumstances with COVID-19 pandemic and limitations in travelling, the plan has not been possible to realize and due to a new family situation the owners have now decided to let S/Y After Ski move on to new owners and to new adventures. Before leaving Sweden the boat was upgraded with alot of equipment, instruments, a new electrical windlash, a new bowsprit, AIS, VHF and more. The rig was inspected in 2019. Upon arrival in Lagos, service and maintenance of the engine and S-drive was made. S/Y After Ski is now prepared, polished and bottom painted and ready for new adventures. With S/Y After Ski`s current location in Lagos, this is the ideal starting point for sailing in Southern Europe, into the Med, Canary Islands, the Caribbean or to a new home port back in the northern part of Europe!

The interior is tastefull classic design and well optimized. Master Cabin with doublebed is the forward cabin. I the aft there are two cabins, both designed as doubles for two person in each. One cabin behind the bathroom, that can even serve as extra storageroom if so preferred. The Salong easy rooms at least 6 people in the 2 soffas, with one on each side of the large nice table in the middle. The salong even have plenty of lockers and storage on both sides, as well as some storage under the floor. In the salong you will also find the navigation area with navigation table and a good overview of all nessesary instruments, VHF Radio etc. The Pentry is well planned and well equiped with good storage including well planned refrigeator and the gas stove with two burners and gas oven.

The bathroom has been upgraded with a electric toilet and pump to holding tank.

The current owner only used the outdoor shower in the cockpit or on the aft platform. But the bathroom can easy be adapted with a shower as the drain in the floor already is prepared for this.

The nice large cockpit is well protected with a wide Bimini and even a Cockpit tent is included in order to protect against sun and rain if needed. On the aft After Ski has a nice swim platform with ladder that makes it great for enjpying a nice swim or for easy entering from the dinghy.

Inretningen er klassisk smagfuld lakkeret teak og konstrueret af erfarne svenska indretningsarkitekter. Samma kvalitet och stil velkendt for højkvalitativ indretning i både som, blandt andet Hallberg-Rassy, Najad, Regina af Vindö och Malö. Konstruktøren og den første ejer har haft stor fokus på kvalitet i alle detaljer.

Båden har mest sejlet i svenske farvand og overvejende weekend og feriesejlads. Det meste af tiden båden har været brugt, er således sejlads i løbet af forår, sommer og tidlig efterår i skånsomt klima og omgivelser, hvilket tydeligt ses på bl.a. det fine teakdæk som stadig er i absolut topform. De nuværende ejere sejlede en kort tid i nordiske farvand inden de 2019 sejlede fra Sverige via Tyskland, Holland, Engelska kanalen og videre via Frankrig og over Biscayen og ned langs Spaniens och Portugals vestkyst till Algarve på Portugals sydkyst hvor båden nu ligger. Denne cruisingmaskine har bevist sin kapacitet på havet i alla slags vejr, fra is och sne til det varme och solrige Sydeuropa. De nuværende ejeres plan var at fortsætte sejlads halvårsvis i Midelhavet, men på grund af omstændighederne med COVID-19 pandemien samtidig som familiesituation/karriærer er ændrede, har de nu besluttet at lade S/Y After Ski gå videre til nye ejere og ud på nye æventyr.

Inden afgang fra Sverige mod Portugal blev After Ski opgraderet med en stor del udrustning, nye instrumenter, nyt ankerspel, ny peke, AIS, VHF med mere. Riggen blev også besigtiget 2019. Ved ankomst til Lagos i Portugal, hvor S/Y After Ski nu ligger på land, blev der lavet en udførlig service og vedligeholdelse og motor og drev. After Ski er ved at blive gjort forårs/sommerklar, poleret og bundmalet og er klar for nye æventyr, så som fortsat sejlads i Sydeuropa, Middelhavet, Kanarieøerne eller hvorfor ikke mod Caribien eller for transport tilbage til en ny hjemmehavn i det dejlige Norden!

Invendigt er smukt klassisk lakkeret ædeltræ och meget veldisponeret indretning. En masterkahyt med dobbeltseng i føren for 2 personer. I akter er der 2 kahytter med plats för 2 personer i varje hytt eller praktisk med ekstra opbevaring for langtur i den ene kahyt og kahyt til gæster i den anden. I Salongen sidder man bekvæmt minst 6 personer i de 2 magelige sofaer, en på hver side af det et stort smukt bord. Der er desuden god plads i diverse skabe og opbevaringspladser under sofaer på begge sider samt vis plads under durken. I tillæg er der ligeledes en navigationsplats med samtliga instrumenter och god plads for navigationsplanlægning etc. Køkkenet/Pentry er veludrustet med god plads til madlavning på gaskomfur og i gasovn samt god plads i skabe. Her er desuden et rummeligt og velindrettet køleskab.

Toilettet er opgraderet med elektrisk skyld, pumpe och kværn, naturligvis med septiktank.

De nuværende/tidligere ejere har brugt bruseren på badeplatformen eller i cockpit, men det er let at reetablere brusermuligheden på badeværelset i tillæg. Det velbeskyttede cockpit har en bred sprayhood som beskytter mod uvejr , splash og sol, og har herlig god plads for et konfortabelt hverdagsliv ude samt for sikker sejlads. Der er desuden et cockpittelt for yderligere beskyttelse mod regn og sol om man ønsker. På akter er der en meget rummelig og praktisk badplatform men badstige.
