About this Otam 80

English

Otam makes use of 60 years of experience in powerboating and for this Otam Millennium 80 HT has determinedly wanted to keep the aspect of performance central, combining it with a decidedly more "luxury" appeal.

Developed on the classic OTAM deep V hull, Otam Millennium 80 HT has four MTU engines of 1620 hp each with Trimax surface propeller drives. The power of the engines ensures that the declared 54 knots of top speed are maintained even with the extra weight of the interior.

Despite the “racing” solution, this Otam Millennium 80 HT is extremely docile during low-speed maneuvers using only the two external motors so as to be able to halve the power.

The development of the bridge also benefits from Otam's experience in competitions with four wraparound sports seats, covered in leather with padded backs which, electrically operated, allow the driver to steer standing or seated, as well as in any intermediate position; moreover, the suspension is adjustable in order to find the perfect level of comfort in relation to the sailing conditions. Instrumentation is complete in front of both seats, with the rudder on the left. In speed, the electronic system allows you to control all the engines with a single lever.

In the external line, every centimeter of the Otam Millennium 80 HT denotes its vocation as a high-performance boat: there are no handrails or fittings to "dirty" its clean lines. The bulwarks become sharper as they run aft where a welcoming cockpit is set up with the classic central solarium. For the tender there is a garage with a slide incorporated in the transom.

The main deck saloon develops into a large convivial area, in line with the style of the boat. The interiors were designed by architect Achille Salvagni with the support of the OTAM technical staff and are inspired by a minimalist style. The design of the furnishings, together with the use of particular types of ebony and teak with leather inserts in natural colors and raw fabrics, create a charming and welcoming atmosphere, emphasizing the generosity of the spaces.

The cockpit merges completely with the main salon thanks to a retractable window that makes both areas a single environment. The living room features a living area with large comfortable linen sofas and a round ebony table.

The yacht, in the four-engine version, has three large cabins with bathrooms and two crew cabins: the owner's one that extends over the entire bow section, while the two guest cabins have twin beds. To ensure maximum privacy, the galley and the crew cabin are located in a separate area with access from the main deck, while the crew can reach their cabin directly from the foredeck.

General

Mr Brown carries on the shipyard tradition of offering performance-oriented pleasurecraft. “Performance” is the operative word: Mr. Brown hit a reported 54-knot top speed on initial sea trials, yet Otam isn’t satisfied. The shipyard is striving for 55- to 58-knots when a prop swap occurs this month.

Similar to other opens, Mr. Brown has no bulkheads separating the helm from the saloon. The four leather helm seats are intended to be used by both the captain and guests, too. In fact, the two seats to port are for the owners/guests. While they’re not in reach of the engine controls, they can keep tabs on operations and other systems. Otam programmed iPads to display a variety of information for them, including data from the GPS. These same iPads let the owners and guests access Mr. Brown’s entertainment systems.

additionally offers the creature comforts open buyers prefer. There’s a sunpad on the foredeck, plus one on the aft deck, both of which Otam says can be used at thrilling speeds. From the saloon to the staterooms, ebony and teak joinery, leather, lush carpeting, and more set a serene scene. A particularly nice feature aboard Mr. Brown is the retractable port between the saloon and aft deck. Further nice: a rotating table (made of ebony) in the saloon.

Since Mr. Brown has a four-engine configuration, two twin guest staterooms accompany the master, the latter of which is fully forward. The crew, accommodated in two cabins, access their area via the foredeck.
