OWNERS COMMENTS:

The vendor has owned this vessel for seven and a half years and during which time she has been wintered ashore every year at Baltic Wharf Totnes.

Initially she had her delivery trip from River Blackwater to Dartmouth. Since then Scorpio has completed three return trips to the Channel Islands, northern France and southern Brittany plus a return trip to Plymouth and Falmouth.

“Scorpio is a superb cruising boat that handles short and long trips easily. The fully battened main with the sail stacker makes the slab reefing easy and with the auto pilot long channel crossings became more relaxed!

She has been well loved but sadly but for personal reasons I have decided to give up sailing.”

Please note: The centre-board keel is currently stuck in position and has been for some time, at half way down roughly 1.5m draft. I have tried a number of times with various methods to free this up but sadly with no success, but since the keel housing has substantial ballast and is already a shallow keel, this doesn’t effect the boat healing qualities.

RECENT UPDATES:

2014 Baltic Wharf Repairs carried out a full osmosis treatment including epoxy sheathing and copper coated antifouling by with five year warranty.

2014 At the same time as the above the keel was blasted and painted.

2014 Mast unstepped and all standing and running replaced.

2014 All the vinyl linings were stripped from the hull, and deck head panels were also removed and stripped. The hull sides had closed cell foam for insulation applied then covered with new vinyl. The deck head panels had new vinyl foam applied and panels replaced with new fastenings and buttons.

2014 Whilst the foam was removed all the windows were removed and new plastic windows fitted; this also covered four new framed windows for fore peak.

2014 New Dometic cooker and oven.

2015 Lofrans electric anchor winch, fitted.

2016 New Beta 20 20hp engine, exhaust, and morse cables.

2019 New spray hood.

2020 New sail stacker.
