About this Bavaria Match 35

The Bavaria Match series were concived by Doug Peterson to create an optimised IMS racing yacht; capable of podium regatta finishes while offering all the comfort of their cruising cousins for use as a holiday cruiser. The Bavaria Match 35 do not have the extreme keel designs of her larger sisters and has proved to be the best compromise of the design serious. Her high aspect rig, slippery hull and deep keel have created a 35’ yacht which performs well while providing two double cabins below decks with the modern amenities expected of any modern cruising yacht.

Winning her class in the Round The Island Race FIRESTARTER has proven to live up to the designers expectations. Based in Scotland for the last few years she has also proven to be a rewarding cruiser, capable of making very quick passages. Benefitting from a comprehensive maintenance regime she has been upgraded to suit use as a cruiser and her inventory highlights include:

CONSTRUCTION

Hull Construction:

Single piece GRP moulded hull.

Sandwich type construction above the waterline, solid GRP below.

Kevlar reinforced bow sections.

GRP moulded internal structural matrix including floors and stringers, fully bonded to hull with GRP overlays.

Hull faired below the waterline winter 2019 and Micron antifouling applied for launching in 2020.

Deck & Superstructure Construction:

Single piece GRP moulded deck with integrated self-draining cockpit and superstructure.

Hand consolidated sandwich GRP construction.

Moulding finished in white gelcoat with blue style stripe.

Decks and coachroof finished with moulded non-slip textured panels.

Teak laid panels finish cockpit seating and sole.

Anodised alloy toerail with integrated fair leads.

Keel & Rudder:

Bolt-on, fin profile ballast keel.

Lead keel with stainless steel keel bolts.

Semi-Balanced, Spade rudder fitted new 2017.
