About this Nebe Cape 28

“Chaktoura” is a Nebe Cape 28 designed by Bob Klusendick and built by Nebe Boatworks in South Africa. She is a pocket blue-water cruising yacht capable of making long-distance passages. She was sailed from Cape Town to Europe in 1983/4 which is proof positive of her long distance cruising abilities. Her accommodation is very comfortable and with heating and hot water, she would be excellent as a live-aboard cruising yacht. She has been very well maintained and is ready for new adventures!

Owner’s Remarks

I have owned “Chaktoura” since 2007 and have sailed her both locally and across the Channel. I am only selling because I have a growing family and need a larger boat.

“Chaktoura” is an amazingly capable yacht for her size and is surprisingly fast. The last time I sailed back from Cherbourg I averaged 6 knots over 70 miles in a Force 5. In concept the Cape 28 is very similar to a Vancouver 28 or Twister 28 in that she is very sea worthy and capable of crossing oceans if required. She was sturdily built by Nebe Boatworks who were the builders of the Muira and Shearwater class yachts.
