About this Dufour 40 E Performance

Hull no. 49, launched 2012, Spanish registered, stylish cruiser/racer under just her 2nd owner, nicely presented with updates, larger 55hp engine, radar, popular 3-cabin, 2-heads layout ideal for family/friends cruising & racing.

The Dufour 40 became an instant legend when first launched and won the prestigious French Boat of the Year at the Paris Boat Show. She cleverly combines great sailing performance (so good that a 40 won the 2005 IMS World Championship in the IMS 670 class) with ease of handling and cruising comfort.

LEZO has been well maintained and updated with her interior upholstery and cabin sole covering having been re-newed in 2019, and the manual flush heads replaced in 2018. Additionally, her battery charger and all batteries were replaced in 2019, whilst her mainsail stackpack was replaced in 2018 and her North Sails asymmetric spinnaker and trysail are both from 2019. Additionally, her VHF radio was replaced in 2019. She makes for a very stylish a comfortable cruising boat but with a good turn of speed when required whether under sail or whilst under engine, as she has the larger Volvo Penta D2 55hp diesel engine with its saildrive gearbox and 3-blade folding propeller, she has some useful safety/navigation equipment including a liferaft and radar, with the radar/GPS crat plotter having been replaced in 2019. Her spacious and comfortable interior makes for a great space for family and friends to relax and stay aboard, which benefits from a popular 3-cabins 2-heads layout ensuring there is plenty of space for everyone.

“She has sailed in the Brittany area of France with the Macif Academy and I bought her from them, so she has had two owners. Now I have her in Malaga and I am selling her because I no longer live in Spain. She has many updates including; interior upholstery, cabin sole coverings, propeller, propeller, spinnaker and jib sail”
