About this Webbers Cove Downeast Cruiser

English

Persephone is a 1978 solid fiberglass Webber Cove hull with a 2004 entire rebuild by the Newman & Gray Boatyard on Cranberry Island, Maine.  Her layout below exhibits superb craftsmanship and use of space. She is a comfortable cruiser for two and a picnic boat for many with her large cockpit and swim platform.  Because her engine, with only 21 hours, has not been used for several years, it may need to be replaced or rebuilt.  Still, she is a modernized yet traditional Downeast Maine-built boat looking for a new home.

Construction

Solid fiberglass hull built by the Webber Cove Boatyard in East Blue Hill, Maine, in 1978. Her current owner bought the hull and deck in 2003 and the Newman & Gray Boatyard of Cranberry Island, Maine, rebuilt her.  Molded fiberglass decks.  Below the layout is of painted surfaces and varnished trim and cabin sole. The owner was closely involved with the finish work, installing extensive Soundown insulation throughout to minimize noise and vibration, the use of solid wood instead of plywood where feasible, and in general the highest quality materials throughout.
