About this Jarvis Newman Flybridge Cruiser

Runaway was finished by Jim Rockefeller of Bald Mountain Boatworks in Camden, Maine, and designed with good lines providing good looks.  She has cruised to Florida, the Bahamas, and Canada, but mostly cruised along the Maine Coast.  At one time she was considered the fastest of the 90 Newman 36s built.  Her gas engines provide a quiet ride and good maneuverability, especially in tight places.  For the past dozen years, she has been stored inside.  For the boater looking to cruise, Runaway offers a  terrific layout, good proportions, and a nice-looking flybridge cruiser at an affordable price.

Solid fiberglass hull (10 layers of fiberglass plus reinforcing) built by Jarvis Newman Inc. of Southwest Harbor, Maine.  Molded-in quarter guards, skeg, and deck shelf.  Runaway was completed by Bald Mountain Boatworks in Camden, Maine for an experienced yachtsman.  Ken Smith (early designer of the Grand Banks) designed the superstructure and layout. Very high quality woodwork went into the construction of this vessel. Solid teak decks, cockpit sole, shelter, and cabin sole. Teak exterior trim is all sealed with Cetol. Varnished teak stern seat and flybridge bench seating.  Varnished mahogany interior trim, white bulkheads, and green interior cushions.  Cabin and shelter tops are fiberglass over marine plywood.  Her hull was awlgripped dark green in 2009 and bottom painted 2017, exterior shelter and windshield painted 2018.
