This all-custom Farr 42 was commissioned to be a strong contender for handicap wins in both round-the-buoys and long-distance events, as well as a comfortable and stable vessel for offshore use and moderate cruising. Designed by Farr Yacht Design of Annapolis and custom -built by Jim Betts of James Betts Enterprises in Seattle. 
She has been well cared for, maintained and upgraded.  
Major improvements include all exterior paint (Awlgrip deck & topsides, 2010; Black widow bottom, 2017), and the addition of a carbon-fiber bowsprit (NEB) and running backstays (Hall) to increase upwind and downwind sail area She spent her initial years in fresh water.She is a highlycapable and outstanding yacht.

Construction Built to meet or exceed the rigorous requirements of the ‘ABS Guide for Building & Classing Offshore Racing Yachts’. The hull and deck are constructed with an epoxy-resin system; Corecell structural foam sandwiched between uni-directional and quad-axial reinforcements. All internal bulkheads and furniture are fitted and bonded to the hull. The structural grid is also bonded to the hull while still in the mold. The deck is cored with Corecell and strengthened with uni-directional and Quad-axial reinforcements.  The toe rails are molded into the foredeck as are the helmsman’s chocks to the cockpit floor. Stanchions, pushpits & pulpit are powder-coated (black) stainless steel with stainless steel wire lifelines. The hull and deck are finished with high-gloss Awlgrip and clear coated. Key adjustment markings are stenciled into the finish.
