About this Alerion 28

English

"Sailboats are by nature graceful, and many claim to please your eye. But the Alerion Express 28 has consistently been recognized as one of the prettiest boats on the water. That she also has a thoroughly modern underwater shape simply adds to her lustre." ~ Alerion Yachts      Sylkie is a very nice example of the Alerion 28. This is a true New England day sailor with the ability to do some salt water camping. Sylkie is a (2) owner boat that has been well maintained, by both owners, and always lived and sailed in Maine.

Alerion 28

"A maximized cockpit and cabin makes the Alerion Express 28 the perfect cruising yacht for you and your spouse – for weekend adventures or just a spur of the moment evening or after-work sail.

By preserving the traditional look topside – where it shows, and giving the hull a modern design below the waterline, the Alerion Express 28 offers the best of both worlds: great style and great performance along with the pride and admiration they bring.

A very manageable sailplan with a self-tacking jib boom is easily single-handed. And even the most die-hard racers speak of how beautifully balanced and delightful to sail the Alerion Express 28 is.

With over 450 AE28’s worldwide, this daysailer is by far the most popular of all the modern daysailers. With her inception in the mid 90’s the AE28 was also the first model to start this trend.

Currently, there are five active one design fleets for the AE28 throughout the country. The fleets range in size from 6 to 25 boats; with basic “main and jib only” rules there is no shortage of excitement and great sailing." ~ Alerion
