Plymouth based engineering company Aquamare Marine Limited is celebrating 10 years in business. Started in 2009 by Rob Street and Jason Burdett the company was joined by Mike Sommerfeld in 2013. Rob sadly passed away from cancer in 2017 but Mike and Jason have continued with the same ambition and vision and the company now employs 40 people across the UK, USA and Australia.
Jason reflects, “It’s been an incredible journey, we are passionate about what we do. We always set out to build a fantastic team and create an ethos of putting the customer first and this has been key to our success.”
Offering sales and support to the marine industry, Aquamare supply a comprehensive range of products from top brands like Opacmare, Trend, Tecnicomar, Planus and Seakeeper. They also provide worldwide deployment of their team of highly skilled engineers that include specialist; carpenters, GRP fabricators and painters. We asked Mike what’s next for the company:
“We’ve seen a lot more demand for complex retrofit projects. For example, we recently completed a major project to install a stunning cocktail bar on a 78’ motor yacht doing everything from concept design to all aspects of the installation. We pride ourselves on engineering excellence and customer service, so this type of work aligns perfectly with our business.”
