The Seascape 27 is a 26’2” cruiser-racer designed by Sam Manuard Yacht Design, awarded "2015 - Cruising World - Boat of the Year: Cruiser/Racer". The design was later purchased by Beneateu and marketed as the First 27. Designed by Mini-transat sailors, the Seascapes are fast and fun, yet stable and light on the helm. She is easily handled solo or short-handed yet the innovative layout and clever storage solutions make them surprisingly spacious and comfortable even for larger crews.
This particular Seascape, Great Escape, has had one owner from new and is very highly spec'd example with no expense spared and every box ticked. She comes with full sail wardrobe, carbon rig and inboard engine (recently upgraded to an electric pod drive) and hydraulic lifting keel, allowing you to sail into your favourite anchorages and anchor in waist deep waters (minimum draft of 0.95m). She also comes with a custom made road trailer for easy transport.
Accommodation/below deck
Innovative design and clever storage solutions make the cabin much more spacious than you'd anticipate from a 27" boat with modest beam. Four people can sit around the cabin table comfortably and the bench seating on either side doubles as two single berths. With two additional single births aft, under the cockpit and a double berth in the forward cabin, the seascape can, remarkably, sleep 6.
Midships is also a marine head (and holding tank) with innovative folding doors that allows the space to be partitioned off or used as storage space.
Clever space-saving solutions abound; Outboard of the saloon benches are storage areas with custom hanging bags which can be removed, taken home, refilled and returned. The top of the keel box contains a fold-out table and the space can be transformed from dining area to Nav-table. The companion steps fold away to access storage and a fridge.
The cooker is a standard jetboil camping stove in a custom built gimbal.
The domestic battery is lead acid and charged via a solar panel and 240 v charger (no oven).
The E-Propulsion battery is lithium ion, 4096 Wh @48v with its own 240v charger.
Deck and Hull
GRP vacuum-infusion hull is stiff and powerful with buoyancy chambers in the bow and to port and starboard under the cockpit ensuring the boat will stay afloat, even after a hull breach. She has a proper anchor locker forward and storage for a life raft built into the stern.
She has a full carbon rig and generous sail plan, balanced by a deep six foot three inch (hydraulic retractable) keel with 1,200 lbs of ballast.
