The M.S. Blauw was built as an exploration yacht for an owner with a background in the offshore industry. The entire vessel is built with the same attention to safety as a commercial seagoing vessel. Over the years, the ship has made several major voyages, including to Greenland and North America. At the moment the ship is being used as a live aboard. No expense has been spared on maintenance. The entire hull and bottom have been painted in 2021, and the ship has been re-certified.
