Malö Yachts is one of the oldest and most experienced Swedish yacht builders. The yard certainly needs no introduction to experienced sailors. The Malö 46 is a yacht of high quality and built as a true offshore yacht for the discerning sailor. She is the ideal comfortable blue water cruiser. She is ideal for serious, long- distance cruising and long stay on board.
The centre cockpit is deep, clear and the crew is well protected here. The so-called TARGA arch is multifunctional and is used for the mainsheet traveller and keeps loose lines out of the way and heads so the crew is out of the danger zone. The arch also serves as the ideal support for handles, the dodger / cockpit cover and light fixtures. The teak deck still looks great and the deck layout is well thought out. Cleats, stanchions and other fittings - they are all bolted to metal backing plates that are firmly laminated to the hull and deck.
The interior is just as beautiful as the outside of the boat. Amidships is the salon and you will find again many examples of the great craftsmanship. To port is the practical galley; to starboard is the chart table and the large head with shower and toilet. In the forepeak is a double cabin. Deviating from the standard models, there is a separate toilet and shower here. In the stern are two double cabins. The machine room is large and the engine is easily accessible for service.
If you are looking for a sailing yacht that has been well maintained and has a long list of recent upgrades then this must be a serious contender!
