About this Grand Banks 36 Classic

The GB 36 Classic was not only the first vessel in the Grand Banks fleet, but was so well received, she was produced for 39 years.  She was also one of few models that survived the transition to fiberglass, more than 3 years.  The sleek lines, quality construction and friendly sea keeping abilities in unfavorable conditions made the "Grand Banks" name a benchmark in the marine industry.  Having a user friendly layout and being extremely economical didn't hurt.

M/V Grand Travail is a great example of a timeless classic, with a preservation of museum like quality for the craft she is.  For the last 40+ years she has been freshwater kept in a covered slip.  Updated to current USCG & ABYC requirements. The A/C & D/C electrical panels have modernized replacements. The generator (replaced) has proper remote start/stop and shutoff switches (165 hours).  The propane stove/oven not only replaced but meets current storage and shut off requirement. Owner even installed a sniffer system for it.

This vessel has been loved and it shows. The extras go way beyond your standard upkeep of a classic.  There are no water leaks. There is no rotten wood (inside, outside or hull). All the cabinets, latches and doors open with ease. There is a new refrigerator. She also has a new Maxwell windlass, with remote control for operating on fore-deck.

Both heads have been plumed to flush only fresh water. Aft head is a Purasan USCG approved MSD treatment system.  Air conditioning vent added to aft head.

The engines have stainless water mufflers.  The fuel tanks have an auto polishing system built in.  New site glass fuel gauges installed on tanks.  Both water tanks and holding tank have been replaced with stainless tanks.

There is a handmade redwood dingy on the aft deck dingy cradle.  It is stunningly gorgeous, a work of art.

To find a first class boat, from a first class builder that is in exemplary condition at a great price is almost hard to believe.  Current owner's career is moving him away from the water. There are good maintenance records and last marine survey (7/28/18) available to buyers.  Owner takes tremendous pride in the boat and it shows.  Hit Print, she is a "Must See".  Be prepared to turn heads, everywhere you go. She is that good looking!
