About this Nicholson 32

With a production run spanning some 20 years the iconic Nicholson 32 could arguably be the most successful design of its type with models running from the MkI - MkXI. The later models MKX - MKXI benefited from modified mouldings for both the hull and coachroof given slightly more length and volume along with improved sailing performance.

MISAJA has been in the ownership of the one family since she left the builders yard in 1972. After a prolonged lay-up of nearly 20 years under cover she was brought out of her cosy barn in Ireland and re-commissioned. Since recommissioning in 2003 she has been based on Scotland's west coast. Still in very original trim below decks she offers accommodation for 5 in a traditional style layout with a large saloon and deep cockpit the boat is ideally suited to sailing with a young family or short handed long distance type cruising.

Currently lying ashore in North Argyll.

CONSTRUCTION

Now regarded as a modern classic the hull has the traditional lines which were synonymous with Camper and Nicholson designs. The Nicholson 32 MKX's were developments of earlier versions of the design with increased overhangs fore and aft with some constructed in a traditional method with hand consolidated GRP laminates for both the hull and deck mouldings. In this era GRP mouldings were massively over engineered and as such the mouldings are far thicker and more resilient than you would find on modern GRP boats.
