Cowes Week Finale

As Cowes Week 2013 draws to a close, we take a look at this iconic event and its history.

Reportedly, Cowes week can trace it's roots as far back as 1826 with George IVs interest in yachting.

Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week is one of the most important events in the sailing calendar and this year has been no exception. With this year's favourable weather we have seen many exciting clashes.

Tonight we still have the closing ceremonies to look forward to. At 7:30 the world-renowned Red Arrows will take to the skies with their nail-biting and exhilarating aerobatic display.

8:00 - 8:15  Sea Vixens display showing off the historic Sea Vixens in support of Fly Navy.

At 9:30, fireworks display will take place above the Solent to mark the end (well almost)  of the event. Why not join Red Funnel for a very special party onboard Red Funnel's Red Eagle. This year they have partnered up with the team from JACK fm South Coast who will be bringing some additional 80s style fun and games to the popular Fireworks cruise.

Saturday 10th August - The end of week overall prize-giving will take place at the Events Centre, Cowes Yacht Haven, at 7pm on Saturday 10 August. Everyone is welcome!
