16 November 2004 - 20:27
With the creation of the luxury Yacht Club Cala D'or, yacht owners and sailors around Majorca will soon have a new luxury haven at which to recharge their batteries. Work on the club, based at the Cala D'or Marina, is now well under way and is due to be completed by April 2005. Paul Gilbert, the Chief Executive of Yacht Club Cala D'or, has recently announced his intention of extending the promise of an exclusive Club with world class facilities with a new concept of building a sumptuous spa, to be built on the recently purchased adjoining land.
Plans for the new expansion will involve spa treatment rooms and relaxation areas to be built within the grounds on the new site to ensure a calming spa sensation experience to relax and indulge Members prior or post epic voyages. Further lounge areas for Members and conference facilities will also be included, with video conferencing, wireless Internet inside the club and at the Marina, conference and meeting planning, and other business services.
JOIN IN THE FUN! Following the desire to make the Club a personal and friendly club Yacht Club Cala D'or have created a social calendar with a diary of events for members. A delightful day at Goodwood race course in the UK was held in May for a number of the founder members and proved to be a successful event. Not only did it enable the directors of Yacht Club Cala D'or to meet the founder members in person but also gave members a chance to establish friendships. The Yacht Club Cala D'or was also involved in the Rolls Royce Rally day at the end of June, providing a much needed pit stop with refreshments and a tour of the Yacht Club Cala D'or site, for 30 journalists that were invited to the rally.
Further social events for 2004 have included this summers open house series, which allowed many members to visit the construction site and to get a better idea of what the club is going to look like, and a boat cruise for members of Banca Marchs Premium Club in September. At the Yacht Club Cala D'or, members will be able to take advantage of the most luxurious recreational facilities, including an infinity pool, sumptuous bar and lounge area and a fully licensed restaurant, as well as a snack bar with a relaxing terrace area with great views across the marina. For those wishing to continue working negotiations while abroad, full international conference facilities will also be available at the club, together with broadband internet access and all necessary administrative support services.
Membership is to be restricted to only 500 Founder Life and Life members and information is available on the website at www.yccalador.com or by emailing the Managing Director, Pam Op den Brouw on info@yccalador.com.
