Welcome aboard to Nick Stratton Yachts
25 April 2006 - 17:33
In 1971, Nick co-founded Weatherly Yachts in the North of Ireland to build and market the Ruffian 23. Over 40 of these fine little offshore cruisers were built before Nick moved to Scotland and formed Nick Stratton Yachts . The new company formed a relationship with designer David Thomas and produced well over a hundred yachts to his designs, including the Hydro and Bolero, both of which were outright winners of the Scottish Series and competed in international “Ton Cup” racing.
In addition to his own ranges, Nick has represented many major yacht builders including Sigma, Elan, Bowman, Gib'Sea and X-Yachts. Nick is currently working with Rhu Marina Ltd handling Dufour sales in the North (Scotland and Northern Ireland).
Dufour have completely revamped their range in the past 5 years, with the performance brand 34, 40 and 44 foot yachts (the 40 won the 2005 IMS World Championship and the 34 both won and took 4 of the first 5 places in the famous Copa del Rey championship in 2004). Setting a real bench-mark for production performance cruisers, Dufour's 325, 365, 385 and 455 are also new innovative and acclaimed as superb cruising yachts with genuine offshore capability. The 2005 expansion into Rhu Marina ensures that a wide range of second hand yachts are on offer. We will continue to specialise in quality performance and cruising yachts from 30' up, as before. The buttons to your left will take you to our Brokerage List , which is both up to date and detailed. Once you have studied our current listings, we welcome the opportunity to speak with you in detail about the boat you are after and furnish you with the information you require in making your decision. If you don’t find what you are looking for here, call us anyway as we can often source boats for our clients behind the scenes - boats are frequently sold without ever being listed!
