In 1971, Nick co-founded Weatherly Yachts in the North of Ireland to build and market the Ruffian 23. Over 40 of these fine little offshore cruisers were built before Nick moved to Scotland and formed
Nick Stratton Yachts . The new company formed a relationship with designer David Thomas and produced well over a hundred yachts to his designs, including the Hydro and Bolero, both of which were outright winners of the Scottish Series and competed in international “Ton Cup” racing.
