Seeking liveaboard for family of 4

I am looking to purchase a sailboat for 2 adults and 2 small children to liveaboard in the Connecticut shoreline area fulltime at a marina. Does anyone have any recommendations for which boat would suit us best. She will be docked more than cruising but do plan to cruise with her atleast 2x a year.

I suggest you are not in touch with reality. I live with my wife on a 43' houseboat, which offers significantly more room than a 43' sailboat would. For a family of four, a 53' sailboat may not be enough. And to think you will take your house sailing is a good one. What are your goals?

How old are you and your kids? How long have you been married? Do you all get along very well together in cramped quarters? I lived on a Morgan 42' call soulmate for 6 years w/ my wife and two kids, 6 & 11. It started out like a good idea. All very romantic, exciting and adventurous. If you are with your family as close as apples in a cobbler. Then I’d say go for it and have fun it too. The kids will love it if they love the water. There is so much for them to do and learn. But have a contingency plan for if things don't work out. I lost my wife, kids and my Boat. And I really miss my boat. She's the only one I got along with.
