Habitent - adjustable cockpit enclosure

I have just read about an adjustable Cockpit enclosure called the Habitent in the Practical Boat Owner magazine preview. It looks interesting and just the thing for my boat holiday this summer. When the weather is less than good I dislike sitting in the salon as I can't see whats going on outside! Think I will give this a go.

I wouldn't bother with this product.
I have seen the owners of this product and their amatureish antics with prototypes on their boat on Windermere. To say the product looks flimsy and cheap is an understatement. Take my advice, leave well alone.

I agree
I too have observed the shinanigons on Windermere earlier this year and can't imagine who would want to put what I can only describe as a cheap plastic bag that doesn't even fit properly on the back of their pride and joy. I think a more suitable name would have been SHABITENT.

Having read the reviews in PBO, I too am intrigued by this product, I also like the fact that it doubles the avaliable space on board when the weather is not so good. As for the comments on how cheap and shabby it looks, I wouldn't expect a prototype to be of a high standard whilst adjustments were being made, every product has to start somewhere, and from the pictures and reviews I've seen the finished product seems to be of a reasonable standard, bear in mind it's £360 price!
