good starter boat

i am a 15 year old interested in sailing very much and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as a starter boat for someone with no experiance who wants to sail around lakes and bays iam planning on taking lessons

Depending on how much money you have to spend

good starter boats single hander I'd go for a Topper you can pick up an ex sailing school boat for 2-400 GBP

If you want a double hander (ie you plus crew) try a mirror or cadet as a start
again you can pick up a reasonable one for a few hundred

if youwant something a little bigger go for a GP14 but a good one will be around 700 plus

again speak to local sailing schools they often replace their aging fleet and although their boats will sometimes look tatty they have normally been quite well maintained.

The Schools will also give you good advise based on your ability
