Hi, am new here. Can anyone tell me if obtaining a level 2 power boat course is enough to apply for my international competance certificate? I want to hire a boat abroad and want to make sure i can.

Thanks in advance.

Sally

Hi Sally,
Taken from the RYA website:
"The RYA Level 2 Powerboat course: This two-day course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. It includes Close quarters handling, high speed manoeuvres, man overboard recovery and collision regulations. The course can be taken inland or on the coast and your certificate will be endorsed accordingly."

Have a look at http://www.rya.org.uk/Courses/powerboatcourses.htm for more information.

Hope that helps.
