Water in engine oil

When draining the oil from my engine, I found a lot of water. It seems to run fine, and I don't see steam coming from the exhaust. Is this likely to be the dreaded head gasket at fault?

Water in your oil could be caused by a couple of things. It could be your head gasket, or the block could be cracked.

Me too. I have a ChrisCraft 225/GM-350, and after tearing the intake & exhaust manifolds off, along with the heads I found the exhaust log had rusted and was allowing water to seep back into through the cylinders. I noted some steam this summer and a little milky oil. However it became VERY evident when it was hauled last week, up a ramp at an angle, and I basically doubled the volume of fluid in the pan as residual water ran back into the exhaust system. Replacing the risers/logs as we speak, head/intake gaskets looked fine but will replace. CHECK the exhaust manifolds & good luck!!
