What is the best off-shore jurisdiction to own a yacht in ?

Hi folks,

I'm involved in Swiss Banking. Recently we have advised a couple of clients to own their luxury yachts through off-shore companies. To be clear these are international lifestyle clients. In the past we have done this through Channel Island companies, Panamanian or BVI Companies often linked through a Foundation in either Panama or Leichstenstein.

My reason for "coming on board" is to ask if as users you have had experiences - or have friends who have - in the field of "ownership" which have given rise to a preference for one jurisdiction over another.

As a Banker it is one thing to look at the lists of requirements for each of the possibilities and advise a client, but it is another to hear the perspective of experienced users, all anonymously of course. It would be useful to me because my organisation is currently conducting a review of its processes in sch matters and I have inoput on the committee.

Thank you all in advance.
