Tracing the history of a boat

I have a 1955 Burger motor yacht. I have her history from the early 80's to the present day but I am struggling to find any further information on her early years.

I have tried Burger Boats, the builders, and also the relevant registering agencies, but none have been too helpful.

Can anyone suggest a new line of investigation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

My own boat is a 1951 Black Swan motor yacht and I've had a similar problem. I found one of the best places for me is the YBW forum. Not only did I come across people who actually know the boat, but one contributor sent me copies of articles of some of her close relatives. To show the pictures here I've got to upload them to my server which I'll do if you want to see them.

I've still got a 20 year gap to fill but I suppose the trick is to keep going!
