Could anyone help me? I must have driven through a oil or tar slick at the weekend and my white hull now has thick sticky black oil or tar on it - how can I clean this of without damaging the gel coat?

please help she looks a mess!

I would recommend an abrasive polish. If you do use white spirit make sure you use a polish afterwards to restore the protective layer.
