My boat will not go smothly into either forward or reverse. I have tried adjusting the shift cable at the throtle handel and have gotten it so that I can get it into both FWD and RVR but it has a gear grinding sound as it goes into reverse and eventually drope in. In Fwd it will not drop in until the RPM is up to about 1100 and then it goes in with a a hard thud. I am good with wrenches but limited knowledge of boats. Could tis be, the shift interrupt switch is not working correctly? Could it be like in a car the syncronizer brass is gone bad? or any other ideas?
