GELCOAT DAMAGE AGAIN

I have recently purchased off e bay a rigid bow protector after my gelcoat on the bows was ruined. I think this happened at slack water when there was no pull on the mooring coupled with a wake from a passing large vessel causing it to rock up and down excessively against the mooring ring and shackle. I decided I had to do something about it as I had visions of repairing the gelcoat only for it to happen again wasting my time and money. When the protector is fitted it actually looks better than the gelcoat because of the highly polished upvc material. I saw a soft version around £100 but they can be scratched or holed. This rigid material one was around £30 which is about what I paid for a gelcoat repair kit !

Have a look on e bay.

I am sailing again now rather than mixing up rubbing down and respraying.
Its a tough life.

Regards, Stuart
