Swamped Trinka 10

Hello, new here, but not new to sailing.
I haven't swamped it yet, but I am now 63 and not the 22 year old Penguine sailor I once was.
I will be mostly single handing my Trinka 10 in the Grand Lagoon and St. Andrews Bay here at Panama City Beach.
Before I get too far from shore, I could use some advice about recovering a swamped sailing Trinka.
I am all ears for hints and advice!
Regards, Ray Brandes

I own one and plan to purposely swamp and recover it this summer both under sail and without the sail rig. We'll see if it can be recovered. I'll get back on this if you're interested. Jeff

Dinghy Dogs are a good idea, but ugly as all get out, and i am not so sure You can sail the dinghy effectively with them.

I have a Trinka 8, i have dumped it a few times and it comes up with a lot of water in it, so i would declare it not self rescueing. You would need to do alot of baling while treading water out of the boat and if there were any waves it would be a losing battle.

Basically the boat needs more floatation boyancy. My idea would be to lash as may swim noodles (or whatever) anywhere possible. The obvious place is under the thwart, but anywhere wlse would be good.

The Trinka 8 and 10 are great lil boats. Look beautiful, row great and sail surprisingly well. i hhave had alot of fun in mine.
I hope to get a 10 footer as well, but the 8 fits on the foredeck of my sailboat better.

Happy small boating.
Cheers
