which sailing boat should i buy?

Hi everyone im looking to purchase a sailing baot for around 4000 but i dont know where to start i live in leeds and wanting a bit of peace on the ocean waves im 65 and looking to do a bit of fishing can anyone advice me please

Hi,

I would personally go for something like a hunter europa or 19 they will sail through almost anything and back again. try googling "Willing Griffin" single handed trans atlantic boat. Hunter Europas are just as happy spending a day around the cans or undertaking a long passage and a good one can be picked up for 2-4KGBP

If you want something a bit bigger try looking at a folkboat or a folksong.
Again both has succesfullycompeted in the trans atlantic
folboats are very common but are generally wooden hull you can pick up a goodish one for around 4k GBP Folksongs are rarer built in GRP and range in price from 4-6k GBP
