Hi

I own an Invicta 26 Mk II built by Tylers in 1972.

I can provide some limited information!!! Not much has been written about the Invicta as you have probably found.

Hello,
I have an Invicta 26 re 1974. When I bought her she had been neglected for about 7 years, I have been hunting high and low for original information, so now I have acquired some useful, and if I can help in any way, be free to ask.

Bryn.

I have a 1965 Invicta, and I believe that about 160 were made.

My father has one of these and it is for sale. It was moulded by another company, after Tylers had stopped making them. Let me know if you are interested.

We have now advertised the boat on this website. (Boat Number 72675). The boat was moulded by Fi-Craft of Southend and was fitted out by my father over a period of six years. He bought the mouldings from Salterns Yacht Agency of Chichester. It is entirely possible that this boat was one of the last to be made or even the last!

LOA 26'5", LWL 20'8", B 7'4", D 3'11", Disp 5,130lbs, Ballast 2,307lbs, MK1 sail 311sqft.
Pros: Just about bullet proof. Very heavy displacement, folk boat derivative.
Very sea kindly, goes well in F3+, watch the plastic fantastics wallow about while you're having a geat sail! Cheap to buy small enough not to break the bank in mooring fees.
Cons:
Old! Lots of maintenance and upkeep??, very small compared with modern.

Has anyone got a picture of the fittings that turn the cabin door in to a table?

Also has anyone still got the original backrest / lee boards fitted?

Would anyone be like to contribute to a website for Invicta's (Like CO26 site)

Thanks

Adrian

I own a 1969 invicta, apart from a new engine the interior is pretty original, I have the door/ dining table and backrests that convert to leeboards, she is currently on the hard in mid-wales, would be very interested to assist/ help in the setting up of an association or at least a website to swap info, my email is max_hyde@yahoo.com

Cheers Max

I have a Invicta 26 for 5 years and would be delighted to form some sort of an association of Invicta-or- folk boat owners, it's a pity to let these delightful boats go unnoticed.
Bryn.
ps At the moment my boat is ashore at Swansea awaiting replacement engine.

Hi Max and Bryn

I guess three of us makes a group! I will start getting some photos and old reviews together in the next few weeks!

I have been busy last few weeks getting the boat ready for the summer, she is now out on her mooring (Chichester).

Max if you have some pictures of the tableand backrests I would be very interested to see them.

If you have any pictures of your fine sailboat please send to:

Cheers

Adrian

It was me who originally commissioned Van-de-Stadt to design the Invicta.
I named the Class Invicta because my company, The Newhaven Yacht Company , had the mouldings produced in Kent by The Tyler Boat Co.
She proved to be an excellent sea boat and if I can help anyone with technical questions regarding the hull, fittings etc. Please let me know. Original price was £2500. !!
