Mercury user manual

Hi folks, I've just got an old Mercury 40hp 402 and I've been looking for somewhere to get a service manual online. Unfortunately where the little plate with the serial number on it is supposed to be...it isn't! My friend who gave it me informs me it was built in 1979.

Any ideas on places in the UK to look?
