Hi

I have just rebuilt this motor and I have fitted a new impeller kit but since then I have noticed that the water only exits via the exhaust ports some of the time.

The pee stream is very strong so that indicates to me that the water pump is working. When the water is absent from the exhaust the pee stream becomes very warm.Is it ok to run the motor like this as the water is circulating the power head and if not any idea why the cooling water would exit the exhaust only some of the time?

All advice appreciated

I thought I had the same problem on my 82, turns out it dows that when idling and a stream when you add throttle, also mine has a thermostat that starts and stops as needed.
