Re: Opinions on Galeon Boats
I have a Galeon 530 with a 40HP Outboard, depth finder, and two trim tabs. One of the best points is that the Cabin is quite spacious with the bunks well long enough for very tall people. I have a full size canopy (canvas on aluminium collapsible frame) installed which means that two people can stand upright in the cockpit under cover. When single handed at the mooring, I sleep on the rear seat as the beam enables me to lie full length athwartships, and I am 6ft tall. The steering wheel is adjustable which is an excellent facility. The mid section of the windscreen opens up which enables easy access to the bow if necessary and gives a welcome draught in very warm weather. The cockpit is self draining and so the boat can be left uncovered in the rain and there are no big puddles to clear up. One small nuisance is that there are about three or four small indents which I suppose are for putting cups in and when it rains they fill up with water and need to be dried up with a cloth! All in all, an excellent boat which looks and feels good. Putting the canopy up is a bit of a chore (as in all sports boats) so I also have a tonneau cover which is better for quick and easy covering. removing the canopy and frame from the boat to storage is definitely a two person job as it is quite heavy. One final negative point: When sitting or sleeping ijn the cabin you will probably want the door open and the rain comes in; So I have a short half cover which clips to the windscreen and just comes over the dashboard and top of the wheel, which provides rain protection for the cabin when the door is open. Hope all this helps - Happy boating

Re: Opinions on Galeon Boats
I thought they where great until i bought a 330 with a fundamental design fault where the engines exhaust is below the water line causing the turbos to fail. The exhausts have corroded so much the the boat has nearly sunk and she is only 3 years old. Galeon have put thier head in the sand and avoided all my calls and emails. They have built a boat with too big an engine set and im am looking at lossing £130,000, in conlusion i would avoid them like the plague not because of the fault but thier lack of interest in finding a solution.

Good luck

You have got to be having a laugh. Your customer service can only be described as worst than your product. See my other posting on this forum and Mr Murcin Psiuk from Galeon boats if you read this, i hope you can sleep at night. I can not stress enough, anyone concidering buying a galeon boat, think again.
