5.0L mercruiser alpha drive 220hp

Looking at a 2003 Chaparral 215 ssi with the 220 hp setup. Have read a few reviews that were not happy with the performance of the Merc., not enough HP. Anyone have experience with this setup I would appreciate their input. Thanks

Man i just bought a 205le chapparal cuddy cabin with a 5.0 and it does great pulling skier wake board whatever. my max speed is 54 mph and im thinking about changing to a better ss prop for more out the hole torque and less top end. Good luck and man i love my chap its an awesome boat. 1999 205le.
